Goal Calories vs BMR Calories

I understand that BMR calories are what you need to consume just to support your basic needs while goal calories take into consideration your activity level. What number do I want to consider to maintain my weight and not cause my metabolism to slow down?

Thanks for the feedback.

I think if when you put in your information to MFP. And choose maintain and not to lose weight it will give you the number of calories you need.

If you are wanting to maintain your current weight, then you want to eat your Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE), which is what you burn from BMR, normal daily activity, and exercise. In order to lose weight, you want to eat no less then 80% of TDEE.
