Just to quickly check in - in case anyone else is trying to break a plateau as well.
i was eating 1200 + exercise and not losing. upped gradually to 1250 then 1300, and still fluffed about in same three or four pounds. eventually i upped to 1500 + exeercise cals. after one week i lost nothing (but didnt gain). it's now thurs of second week and the scale is down 1.2lb! YAY!
i am only trying to lose MaX one pound a week as am on last ten pounds, so some of this might be water weight etc - but am just so happy that its going in the right direction!
SO anyone thinking of upping their cals, give it a go!
p.s hope this doesnt jinx me now!!

I have a question. You increased your calories and broke the plateau. If you plateau again, will you shift your calories back down to confuse your body, or up them again? I'm on my second week of seriously changing my lifestyle, so I haven't figured out how if I'm plateauing yet or just giving my body time to adjust.0

hmmm good question. well, seeing as upping my calories has only JUST started to work (its only been 1 1/2 weeks) i will wait about a month before doing anything else. i really dont want to decrease the cals again, but iam sure i will plateau again since i only have about 7 or 8 lbs to lose. i think if a plateau happens again, i will:
a) take stock of what i am eating: am i being honest?
b) change my exercise routine
c) eat cleaner (same cals, less sugar, processed food)
hope that helps!0 -
Thanks gilly. Helps alot. I'm also trying to lose those nasty hang-along pounds (10-15) on a body that says no way. Just trying to figure out what to do to shake it up. But I have also only been seriously doing this for 1.5 weeks, so I'm going to give it a few more weeks before changing anything. Thanks again. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing.0
