Can't believe how far I've come...

Tomorrow I have to work a 15 hour public holiday shift at the hospital. Low doctor numbers at the end of a 4 day weekend usually means a very busy day. In the past I'd have survived on vending machine "food" (lollies, chips, soda) and perhaps some take out if I got time (fish and chips/burger etc). Instead, tonight I am preparing and logging my lunch, dinner and snacks for tomorrow. So far tomorrow I'm having:

Snacks: A banana, an apple and 200g of yoghurt, 2 small chocolates
Lunch - Chicken salad
Dinner - Chicken, mashed potato and green beans.

And I still have 250 odd calories to spend! I think I'll "save" some for a special treat tomorrow (?take away coffee) and perhaps pack some nuts as an additional snack.

I'm really proud of myself and hope it inspires others!

Great work in planning ahead. What about bringing some extra veggie sticks ( cut carrots, peppers, broccoli, etc) that you can have on hand in the fridge? They are low calorie, and a great way to resist the vending machine after 12-13 hours in the shift. If you don't end up eating them, then take them home and eat them the next day.

I have used this when working night shifts as my backup, in the event that I ran out of food and was very hungry.
