Yes, I am more anti-social. It seems like everything revolves around unhealthy eating! I don't apologize for it.... It's just a choice I have to make in order to get myself healthy and stay true to my goals. Hopefully at some point I'll be able to abstain in the face of gobs of unhealthy food, but I'm just not there yet!
  • Thank you for the feedback and tips!! I have kept my diet a secret from most of my friends. I am not sure why, just get kind of embarrassed about it. I am not good with temptations. However, I did just email one of the ladies going Wednesday and asked if she would consider splitting breakfast with me to save on calories and money. I will probably count it as my lunch also. Cracker Barrel does not have nutritional info up but it is very large portions and very fattening.

Thank you again, I feel almost scared to eat in public now. I don't trust myself just yet. But I need to conquer this.

Lots of Cracker Barrel's stuff is in the database on this site. Look up the stuff that looks good. :) The grilled chicken tenderloins are low cal and small portions.

Wish I had an easy answer for you. What I've been doing is pre-planning what I'm going to eat when I go out (love those online menus!). But, you have to be able to stick with that plan for it to work. Another thing I do is rearrange my eating habits. Typically, I consume a small amount for breakfast and lunch, but larger portions at dinner because that's what works with my lifestyle. But, if I'm going out to breakfast or lunch with friends, I plan on eating a very small dinner, instead. Remember, every meal is a choice and you have the power to choose the most nutritious meal you can wherever you are.

I feel the same way. As a college student, all of my friends love drinking & eating out multiple times a week. I have a hard time saying no because if I do then I don't see my friends as often as I want. As a result, my weight loss progress has slowed drastically. I only lost 4 lbs in November and 2 lbs this month. So I think I'm going to have to start saying no, but I'm afraid of losing my friends.

I have new friends who I
met through exercise, so that makes things easier. I check out menus online before going anywhere. I am hosting a brunch tomorrow morning and every damned thing has been tweeked by me to get the calories down. My girlfriends are gonna eat the healthy way tomorrow, although I am sure someone will bring treats.

When we end up going somewhere that I can't find something healthy, I go late, and have coffee. But they are my friends, so they understand.
