Diet Dr. Pepper & Caffeine?

Does anyone know why diet Dr. Pepper bottled in 2 liter bottles contain caffeine and the 12 ounce cans do not? What’s up with that? I came across this fact today when shopping for diet soda.

Not sure, but if that is the case.....I am going to go out and buy a bunch of 12 oz diet Dr. peppers!! I am severely caffeine intolerant, but I love diet Dr. Pepper, so that would be awesome for me!!!
