New gym, new problems...

So I joined a new gym for holidays, because I'm in another town. It's ok, but the instructor set me on a program that is really intense, so intense I feel dizzy afterwards (sometimes during), and I don't think it's a sustainable amount of exercise. Namely, I can't see myself doing it everyday (and I can't escape the instructor... argh!!!) What should I do???

Don't understand, why must you stay with that Instructor? Is it a certified Trainer who knows what they are doing?

seriously, just tell the instructor that they're killing you.

there's no shame, they have no idea what you're capable of, and they're prob doing it because you haven't expressed concern at your other workouts. don't give up.

Let them know this is not working for you!
  • Of course you can escape the trainer. They are working for you. You are the customer writing the check!! Don't let them bully you. If you can't work it out with that one, get another one (and don't pay extra to do it!). If that doesn't work or there isn't another one, try going it alone for awhile. Do what the trainer suggested, just ramp it down to a level you can live with.
    Good luck!

That's not a good sign and if the trainer doesn't notice it, then you need a new one. But yes, tell the trainer the workout is too intense for you.

  • Thanks!!! I'm gonna talk to him to get workouts to a more manageable level. I do want to be able to work out really hard eventually, but it'll take some time.
