How are YOU starting the New Year?

This year has been the most successful Weight Loss year for me! Every year I start on January 1st, and give up shortly there after. I might start up again a few times in the year, but I always end the year at a higher weight than I started. This year I changed that! I've lost 33lbs since my Christmas Eve party last year, and almost 30 of that has been since August 1st 2011, when I rededicated myself to MyFitnessPal.com!

I reached my first major goal of hitting 250lbs and bought myself an HRM last week. Due to my work schedule, and finances, getting to the gym has been a struggle. So, I have an Xbox and Kinect, and my boyfriend got me the Your Shape Fitness Evolved 2012 game. Between that and the various Jillian Michaels DVDs I own, I'm hoping to make some serious progress in 2012! I want to get to One-derland, I want to look great at my 10 year reunion in August, I want to feel better in my own skin, and I want to have the confidence to buy cute colorful clothes!

So, How are YOU starting the New Year? Any big plans for 2012? Anything you've done NOW to prepare yourself to reach those goals?

I started my new found weight loss journey in July. I saw a picture of myself at my daughter's going away party and was truly disgusted with myself. I knew I had been gaining the weight I took off a few years back (after 4th baby) but was happy with myself and still felt good. But that picture really was a smack in the face from reality.

I have lost 45 pounds but these last five pounds have been a slow loss. I do not know if this is because I am lower in weight (I know the more you loose the harder it gets) or because I need to do something to shake things up a bit. Nevertheless, I am bound and determined to hit at least the weight I was in 2007 when I met my boyfriend. I would like to hit this goal by June of this year, however....it is another 39 pounds to loose and with this slower pace I don't know if I will hit it but June but I do know I WILL hit it at some point.

I do not know how I am starting this New Years differently other than I am starting it 45 pounds lighter and with MFP in tow. I feel better, I look better, and yes....I am better.

Cheers to all and yes, we can do it!:drinker:

I plan on being hungover on Jan 1st, but Jan 2nd, I;m back at it! I do the same thing where I tell myself I will stick to something and then I don't. :( I've lost about 30 lbs in the past year and a half, but I could have lost so much more if I just stayed with it. This year is the year for that. I started REALLY using MFP (getting friends, participating in discussions and groups) recently and it has really made a difference. We can do it in 2012! Don't let anyone (even yourself) tell you that you can't. Set small goals for short periods of time and work towards that ultimate goal!

I've decided that I cant just say to myself "I'll work out more" .. I needed a goal .. .so I am signing up for my FIRST 5K in April .. so my new years goal will be to train for a 5k .. need to get to that mental state before anything ... I'm actually really excited for it too =)

I am shifting my focus from "losing weight" to actually working towards a goal I've had for years ... so I am hoping that as a result of jogging, I will enter ONEderland within the next few months =)

    HAPPY 2012 EVERYONE!!

Well I started in Sept 2011 and have lost 33 pounds. For 2012 I would like to lose 28 pounds that would take me to my original goal weight. Once I get there I made decide to lose 10 more pounds but right not I'm not sure. The holidays slowed down my weight loss but I havent gained any back so I'm ok.
    Goals for 2012
Get into a size 10 (US) pants or smaller
Reach original goal weight of 165
  • My goal for 2012 is to complete my first triathlon!

    2012 goals are:

    1. Undo all damage (weight gain) done during the holiday seasons by Valentine's Day
    2. Drop 3 inches from waist by mid year
    3. Consistently do weight training at least twice a week

Hiking up Little Mountt Si on New Year's Eve morning. From there I am changing my diet. More fruits, & vegetables. I've got a great start already! I have 10 lbs to lose. I lost 14.6 this year, but I got stuck on a plateau.

Goal is to be 100% in shape by August 2012. Climbing Mt Adams in Washington State. 8 hrs to climb to the top & another 6 hrs. to come down. It's the second highest peak in the state.

Good luck to everyone on your goals, and have a happy new year!:flowerforyou: :drinker:

I have been successful with MFP. Lost around 60 lbs and have been kind of sitting at maintenance for the last several months. Now it's time to take off the last 10 to 15. Get rid of the muffin-top that still pokes out from my jeans. Re-commit to the gym and daily exercise. Being strong and fit is my main goal.
