treadmill or crosstrainer?

So, I'm looking at getting one or the other- which would you guys recommend? Considering I'll be looking at the lower end of the price scale (no more than £250, not sure what that is in dollars) and can't have anything that takes up vast amounts of room.

I'd be looking at something like, but not necessarily identical to:

or

Many thanks

Wellll couldn't you just run outside? If you do that than you could get the cross trainer and have both!

I COULD run outside, but I hate being seen. Plus, I'd use weather as an excuse :grumble: I'm leaning towards treadmill but I don't know if with what I can afford, I could get a decent one, in whic case, I'd be better with a cross trainer?

well, for several years i used the crosstrainer/elliptical and barely lost any weight, mostly maintained. Then I started on the treadmill (which was challenging at first) and now I'm in love with running. The pounds just shed off from running. people always say that if you want to lose weight, run. I agree.

this is just my experience.. i'm sure the xtrainer would be awesome too! let us know how it goes!

I suggest watching the paper. Right now is the best time to get a cheap, good-quality treadmill that has only been used as a clothing rack!
