How did you go this Christmas?

I was tentative this Christmas.

So the story goes I did not want to, nor do I believe I should, log my food on festive days. I feel Christmas is a day to enjoy life and be thankful - and that's hard when you're nose is buried in your phone counting your calories.
My first goal has always been to get under three digits, at least 99.9 kg! I decided I wanted to push this goal forward to Christmas day and my reward would be to not have to count. I was ADAMANT to get this to under three digits by Christmas day.... and I missed my mark by 1kg!

Which brings me to my main point of this post. Even though I wasn't counting at all, I still found myself putting proper portions on my plate and when i was a bit full, not go for that second plate. I indulged in LOTS of chocolates and soft drinks for the first time since I started three months ago. I was terrified to get on that scale after this 4-day binge.

I went for a 5k run yesterday to 'burn off Christmas' and today I jumped on the scale and I'm 101kg! I guess I'm most proud at finding my balance whilst away from MFP.

So I really want to know - how did everyone go this Christmas?

I ate too much, drank too much and didn't exercise at all (I wasn't completely sedentary, but you know what I mean). I think I eat more cheese in the week surrounding Christmas than I do in most months the rest of the year. I'm sure I gained some weight, both water and fat, but it's okay. I'll lose it again.

I am happy with how I did at Christmas - I logged what I knew I would be having before Christmas Day so I wasn't on MFP too much but knew I would be well over my calories and that was fine - it is Christmas after all! The biggest NSV for me was that Christmas wasn't 6 weeks long this year!lol I relaxed a little on Friday, went over a bit on Saturday and went over alot on Sunday then back on track on Monday. Don't know what the scales will say tomorrow but I am sure any gain will be minimal and temporary! I'll be going over again on Sunday but I intend to stay on track till my vacation in March after that!

I ate more on Christmas than I would normally eat in 3 days. It was bad! That was my only bad day though. I probably had close to 4000 calories! I did not log it. I gained a little over a pound and felt really really sick that night. LOL

I was way over my calories but for the first time did not eat until I was bursting. I had good food, good wine and enjoyed it without feeling guilty afterwards :)

Well you know what? Doing that once every 365 days can't be all that bad in the longrun ;)
