Hi! I am new here and recently started the 30DS to lose some of my pregnancy weight and now im 4 months post partum so decided it was a good time. I've never really followed an exercise program my whole life and i was always at a satisfactory weight so never needed to push myself to lose. Now im 6-7 kgs overweight and it just isnt dropping off like it used to. After my child was born i began to eat so much sugar and junk just cause i didnt have time to cook! I know its very unhealthy and very unbelievable that I would never go to the gym or use the treadmill I'm sorry for that and since I am 26 now the weight is stuck!

I now have MFP set me up at 1200 cals which i exceed by eating some of my exercise calories. My problem now is I am on day 6 of the 30DS and iv developed a bad back pain (same pain i used to have while i was pregnant) are there any tips how i can relieve it? Do you think this is temporary? have i pulled a wrong muscle? Im only on level one and I dont even use heavy weights just 1 kg!

Everyone over here is so so helpful so thanks in advance :)

It could be a number of things. Try going to a chiropractor. I heart my back exercising one day back in 2009. It flared up about every 6 months. I finally got an x-ray & then an mri last month and I have mild degenerative disc disease. If the pain doesn't go away, I'd recommend getting it checked out so you know how to care for it! Good luck, back pain sucks!

Back pain is tough - heat and rest helps. When you get back to exercise - try something lower impact (30 Day Shred is rated high impact at collagevideo.com) - or at least switch off between high impact & low impact days.

thanks for your reply...it was quite sudden and iv never had it in my life (Except for pregnancy which is common) so thats why was a bit concerned...i wonder if back pain occurs through pushups because thats what i tried yesterday! i will definitely see someone about it thanks :)

Push ups! That could do it. Planks work the core - so push ups makes sense. I wouldn't push things too hard too fast and risk (any more) injury.

You'll have to be very careful - very precise with your form or you could risk making it worse. Take a couple days and just do cardio, give your back a rest. Then when you come back make sure you use really good form. If you only do 1/2 the number of reps at first - so be it - just so you do it right.
