My name is Scott and I am originally from Augusta but now I live in Austin, TX. So I guess my let you know about me, I currently weigh 257 lbs and I have a large frame according the all the test and measurements. Now, I have always been overweight expect for about 6 months, when I was fresh out of bootcamp where I was 170lbs and then I started to stress eat and my eating habits did not change. I still ate a lot especially at night from a whole box of snack cakes and a bottle of eggnog to a whole two-liter a night habit of Mountain dew. The Army always wanted to change me and help me lose weight all the time to the point it became cliche to say the least. New unit or new supervisor always wanted me to lose weight but they gave up on me and thus I gave up. So a year later, on my own I have lost 20 lbs. Started at about 280 and now down to 257, my lowest was 246 I believe for a bit then the bad eating habits formed again. I do karate, I used to compete in sport karate before the army, and I am getting back into it and trying to get down to the ideal weight of 170lbs. This is the “perfect” weight for me. So I just wanted to say “Hi!”

Hi and welcome. Looks like you are off to a good start. To be the most successful you are going to have to find out why you eat the way you do and how can you refocus that energy. You stated you competed before...maybe that is where you should put your energy. Congratulations on taking the first step to a healhier life.0

Hi! I struggle with food too. I may not have gone 2 liters a day but man, I'd go to town with my cheese and breads *YUM*
anyway feel free to add me. I've been on mfp for a while but only recently been using the app hard core and making friends online. We can help keep each other in check!0 -

Hi Scott -
I live here in Austin also and have recently started using MFP. Keep up the good work. You're making good progress. Let's encourage each other as we both lose weight. I'm about 5 pounds behind you - maybe a little friendly competition would do both of us some good.
I'll send you a friend request - accept it if you wish. If not, good luck on your journey.
