holiday food challenges

it's the holiday season now and the time for parties, family gatherings, food treats. All these foods are so tempting to make you want to overeat. the cookies, cakes, pies,.. looks good but it is so fattening. For the holiday dinners, there is always the heavy starchy foods, and the holiday ham, turkey, roasts.

so many temptations to stay away from. When I would meet family for holiday dinners, it is like an obligation to eat the foods. If I do not eat it, it is like insulting them. My strategy would be to take only a small bite just to make them happy that I try their food.
but that one bite can turn into a big plateful without any self control to stop eating past one bite. I think it is a challenge to have self control over holiday dinners.
