Then what are the benefits of strength training while losing weight? Maybe I'm over thinking this. Strength training has always been a weak spot for me, so perhaps I am just not educated enough on the subject.

As I understand it, as you lose weight, you lose a portion of that # from fat and a portion of that # from muscle. Strength training helps preserve the existing muscle while setting you into a good routine for continued success... And you feel healthy and strong, which is all good0
