Hi everyone. My name is Dylan and I just started using this application on my phone. I'm 18, soon to be 19 and a freshman in college. I've tried a few times to get in shape but I always get lazy and stop. Especially being in college, I've put on more weight. I'm 206 now and 5'11". My current goal is to get to 180 by losing 2 pounds per week. I slacked big time these past few days from the holiday but I'm set now. I was down to 150 about 4 years ago but that's because my hockey coach was a personal trainer and really helped us get in shape. I'm not playing anymore so I really have to make an effort to get up and go to the gym. I'm really hoping MFP will help keep me in line and give me the guidelines I need.

It'd be great to meet some of you. I'd like to get down to about 165, maybe a little more because of muscle weight that I'll likely gain. I saw some results of people on the Success Stories board and it was really inspiring. I'd like to maybe get some friends so we can work at this together. I'm not confident at all about my looks and really only because of my weight. I think I'm a pretty decent-looking guy but I don't feel comfortable in my body and I want to change that. Anyways, I'll stop my rant. Hope to meet some you all.

  • I'm new as well...and 18. I have made many, many friends as well. (I joined yesterday) Everyone on here is so supportive! Feel free to add me if you want. We all need a little bit of encouragement.

I'd love to. Thanks for the quick reply. My biggest problem is relapsing and eating really bad food after I start off well. I come from a family of diabetics and some overweightness (I know that's not a word) and I know I need to get healthy.

Nice to see some more younger people on here, haha. I've had the same problem as you. I'll do really well for a while, and I'll give my self a "break" and allow myself a snack less healthy than I'd usually have, but I end up going kinda crazy and I feel like I ruined everything for myself. This place (usually) helps. And although some of the people on the board are a bit judgmental, as long as you try to avoid them, you should do pretty well :)
