I have the FT60. Feel free to msg me with any questions you have once it arrives. It is pretty user friendly. Read the user manual before you use it.
When you set it up you'll enter your age, gender, height, weight, max HR, and VO2 max. These are used to more accurately estimate you calorie expenditure. There are several ways to estimate your max HR. The simplest, but least accurate, is 220 - age. I found a better formula that I use. You can also use the highest HR you have seen during a workout while wearing a monitor, but only do this if you can work near your max HR without risking a heart attack!
The FT60 can run a resting fitness test to estimate your VO2 max or there are several workout tests you can use to estimate this number.
It will also create a workout for you based on your goals. I used it to create a weight loss program. It tells me how long to spend in each of 3 HR zones per week. I bought the flow link accessory to sync the watch with the polar training website. The watch will store 100 workouts, but the website will store them all. I update my weight on the watch weekly. You should also update the VO2 max as your fitness improves. The max HR number will not change.
The watch displays a trophy each week you comply with the program it has created and provides fitness advice for the following week. So far I have only used it while on the treadmill, but I got P90X for Christmas and intend to use it with that.
Hope this helps. As I said, feel free to msg me with any specific questions.
Good luck,
Rich0
