Would you log CLEANING with a HRM??

I bought a HRM to monitor my Zumba for the Wii when it arrives today and I get to try it out so my burn is spot on since my weight isn't when I use the Wii to weigh.

Today I decided to use my HRM while I cleaned my kitchen as a test and I was SOOOO not impressed with the burn. While I was out of breath and sweating I think it is because I am still overweight not because I had a good burn!!

30min cleaning and 37 calories burnned----nowhere near the burns I see when cleaning is logged. So if I were to clean for 2 hours I might burn 150 calories if I were lucky???? I think I will go run for 2 hours and burn 1200!!!!

What do you think??

If cleaning is done by someone normally, it probably shouldn't be included as exercise.

If its something you do normally, don't log it. Personally, anything under 30 minutes that doesn't really break a sweat (walking to and from work, cleaning, laundry etc) I don't log. I'm sure I make some errors in the calories counting on the food side anyway.

But yes 40 cal burn while sweating sounds small, sure you calibrated the HRM right? :)

I, myself, am not wanting to log it---I am trying to pose a question and prove a point that it is not enough to take place of a "workout" which some on MFP do and I think they are cheating themselves and why they don't loose weight.

It was just a test of what you would burn in 30 min of cleaning vs 30 min of running.
