Punta Cana - Who Has been There?

Hello!!

I am planning a trip to Punta Cana in April with the BF and another couple. Any advice on where to stay? what to do? I am thinking All Inclusive is the way to go?

Been twice - both all inclusive.... Iberostar Punta Cana and Gran Bahia Punta Cana. Liked both.... but this was a while ago.
Did a few excursions... horse back riding, a snorkling trip to a shark pen.

Check tripadvisor - that info is always current.

****Both times I had things removed (stolen) from my luggage at the airport (punta cana's)... keep all valuables in your carry on!

Not me!!! But I always find with all inclusive places I get sick of the food just me though. And instead you can just go out and buy your own booze and then try fun and different restuarants... OR cook some of your own food if your hotel allows. Just a thought

All inclusive is obviously the easiest, but I find it's maybe not all it's cracked up to be. I like variety and if you do your research you can probably come out doing it the other way and spending the same amount of money -- just more work. AND if you do decide to go out to eat sometimes, then you are spending extra and "wasting" the money you spent on the all inclusive. I guess it might depend on how long you are staying LOL
