I am 5' 1&1/2 and weighed in around 130 this morning. I have a goal weight of 120. I want to lose weight AND tone up. However, if I am understanding this correctly you canNOT gain muscle and tone up when in a deficit. So, does that mean I need to eat at my current "maintenance" calories to tone up---which means if I eat at maintenance I won't lose weight??? I
Did that make any sense:laugh: ? I am just confused and I hope you understand what I am saying...
ETA: I have been doing cardio to lose fat and Chalean Extreme to get stronger/leaner. Does that sound like a good combo?

Stop obsessing over a scale number and worry about body composition. How would you feel if your scale number went up, but you dropped a size?0

. I just don't know how to tone up if you can't while in a deficit---is that true?

While you can't really gain muscle on a deficit, you can improve your strength and keep the muscle you do have with strength training. I have no idea what Chalaen extreme is, but if you're lifting heavy things while doing it, it's good. If not, switch to something that involves you lifting heavy things.0

eat at a deficit while continuing with your lifting and cardio. This should help salvage your muscles while your fat melts away. Once you reach the goal weight your aiming for, then start eating at a slight surplus, like 200 cal over.0

Go ahead and start doing Chalean Extreme. You will gain muscle as you lose fat. So you may not see a decrease on the scale, but will SEE a difference in your tone and sizes.0
