website/program advice needed

Hey all,

I've been trying to lose weight but I've gained nearly 30 lbs since I last signed on. I'm 24 and starting to student teach at a high school this semester. I look at myself and feel stressed and self-conscious in the classroom, which should be the last thing on my mind.

I've tried Atkins and gained it just as quickly back, I've tried eating healthy and cutting out soda and same thing. I'm tired of trying only to gain it back twice as fast. I'm going for a free consult with Slimgenics tomorrow, but after reading some reviews it seems like a lot of pills and I have problems swallowing pills.... so I'm not sure if it will even be plausible for me to join. I'm only looking to lose about 60 lbs. I would rather do a lifestyle change than a quick weight drop.

I'm looking for website or recipe book suggestions to help me get back on track. Or a program if one has worked for you...

Thanks :)

You've gained 30 lbs after NOT signing into MFP? If so, that's your problem. I've done herbalife, Jenny Craig, WW, and mfp and they have all worked as long as I sticked to it. There really is no magic pill. It is a LIFESTYLE. You will have to always be aware of what you eat and how much you exercise.

    Just my opinion
  • Atkins made me insane when I did it- the South Beach Diet has a more common sense eating plan with the same basic concept. Just pick an exercise and diet plan; stick to it for several months and judge your progress by how you feel/ how many inches you are losing instead of looking at the scale. If you do some form of resistance training (as most fitness plans recommend) along with some cardio you will raise your metabolism and lose inches quicker than seeing a big change on your scale.
  • I know it is a lifestyle change... I was wondering if anyone had any websites or recipe books or something like that to help with the changes.
