New Years??

I was wondering if anyone had a good idea on how to deal with New Years. Over Christmas I gained about 5 pounds I am now only one pound away from shedding of my holiday gain. I am worried that I will have another gain this weekend! Now I will be drinking (I'd be a party pooper if I couldn't) so I want to know if there is a way to have the best of both worlds!! So how can I drink and party and have a gay ol' time without ruining my progress!? Is it possible? What are your plans?
Note: Not drinking is Not and options! Sorry!
Cheers to the new year! :drinker:

personally, I just plan on pre-logging my drinks for the day, trying to avoid bar food, and drinking lots of water so I won't be craving high-fat, high sodium when I'm hungover. Drink vodka with diet club soda, with a hint of lime - nothing too sweet and always diet soda!0

Drink whatever has the least amount of calories like vodka and diet soda or rum and diet coke. Try not to eat a ton of junk while drinking, and you should be fine.0

Hit the gym early in the day if possible to have extra calories for later enjoyment?? Not sure if that is a good way to go about it or not.0

That's kind of what I was thinking. sounds like a plan. Maybe instead of doing 1200 cals I'll switch to maintenance cals. Either way I do not want to go over!! and yes the next day my cravings are bad so I NEED to remember my water!
Thanks for the input!0 -

Another thing i need to remember!
I'm putting these helpful tips in my food log notes so i don't forget!0 -
I lost weight over Thanksgiving (not so much over Christmas...), but I did it by adding MORE EXERCISE! I tried to exercise more and eat less (not eat ALL my exercise calories) the days before/after and I tried to get in a bit of exercise in the morning to help counteract the extra calories.
I'm going to focus on adding extra exercise around New Years (going to try to get a good 45min-hour exercise in that morning!) and try to eat healthier to counteract the adult beverages.
Also, make sure it's only ONE DAY! I spread Christmas out over a whole week (or more) and that's why I gained some weight back. If you limit it to ONLY on New Years, you should be fine. Try to drink lots of water on the day and after.0 -
Just take shots..it is less calories and you get drunker faster!!!0
