wearing a jacket while running

My brother has this weird logic of wearing jacket while running that you burn more if you're wearing jacket, you sweat more. I've seen other guys as well wearing jacket while running. Can anyone explain why? It's not even cold out there.

You might lose more water weight by sweating more, but you won't burn any more calories by wearing a jacket.0

High school wrestlers will often run while wearing a plastic bag poncho to sweat more, so they can drop enough water weight to make weight before a match. It's not very effective for long term weight loss.
I run while wearing a fleece because it's below freezing in the mornings.0 -
I've seen one girl in the gym wearing a hoodie jacket while on the elliptical. The funny thing was that her one hand was holding to the static handle while she was trying to send SMS using her other hand & only her legs were moving, LMAO0
