I totally don't get this

I lost 22 pounds between June and October and since then I've been maintaining. I was a few pounds below my maintenance goal a few weeks ago because I wanted some wiggle room for the holidays. I planned on enjoying some of the once a year treats we have around. For the last 10 days or so I've mostly eaten what I wanted, indulging in a bacon and egg breakfast a few times, eating Christmas cookies and candy and several large festive dinners. I got on the scale this morning expecting to have gained a pound or two and I was 2.2 pounds down from last week. How is that even possible??
