Thinking about what made me successful when I lost my first 80 pounds with weight watchers and why I haven't been successful with the last 30, led me to change my goal weight on mfp to 5 pounds less than I am now. Then, once I lose that 5, I will change my goal weight to 5 more pounds lost until I reach my ultimate goal. I think this will make it more manageable for me. My question is, can anyone think of any reason why this will mess with the way mfp calculates my needed calories thus slowing or preventing weight loss? Thanks for any and all thoughts.

I cant really answer the question about how it will change calculations, but i like your approach! My goals on here are for my goal weight, but I actually wrote a blog on here yesterday about all of my "mini" goals which has one for about every month, just to keep me motivated and feeling like i am achieving small goals! (I had a end of year goal, i met already, i have one by valentines day, my birthday, 4th of July, etc)0
