I like to remind myself, "You're good enough, you're smart enough, and doggone It, people like you." The last part isn't really true, but I tell myself anyway. It helps.
I stopped telling myself lies years ago...
I know. I need to face the fact that people don't like me.
Don't just face the fact, embrace it, and have fun with it.
Yes. I will allow the dark side to flow in me, and give me power.

You should. It's high octane. And you'll never have to endure that anxious, horrible feeling you get when you wonder if people will like you or not, because you just won't care. More and more I find the solution to my social phobia woes is to look people in the eye and think, that's fine if you don't like me, but don't get in my way, or I'll take you down.

Some people certainly like you, I can tell that from interactions on here.
As for me, the way I see it, I don't like everyone I meet, so why should I expect everyone to like me?

Especially as I have opinions and ideas and enjoy engaging in discussions instead of just smiling and nodding and being bland. At least the people who do like me, really really do like me, and that's far better than being so dull that nobody could possibly find anything to dislike about me.

To the OP - that really is a great list, thanks.

These are so awesome! I'm copying them into my phone to pull up when I get stuck/triggered.
Thanks so much for posting them.

I remember reading somewhere that the average person enters their computer password 10 times a day; with that in mind, I always set my work passwords to motivation/coping phrases...almost like forcing a positive mantra throughout the rough work day.

What a great idea - I'm stealing it!
