in 2011, I stopped making excuses.

In the beginning of 2011, I weighed 145 pounds. I was binge drinking 3-4 times a week, and maybe going to the gym for fun 3 times a week. I joined MFP (the first time) in April. I had NO idea how horrible my diet was. I started running to help burn off those calories. I just kept running and running . I almost became obsessed. I wanted to get faster and faster.
In janurary I was barely able to run 3 miles in 27 min.
By July I ran my first ever 5k in 24:49.
I tried out & made my colleges cross country (and now track team) && I've never been on a sports team in my life prior to this.
I ran my last 5k of the season in 22:22
I never thought this could be possible. I used to smoke a half pack a day my senior year in high school. I used to think I wasn't good enough to be an athelte. I used to make excuses. I used to limit myself. I was so nervous to contact the coach saying "i have no experience running". I was so nervous to meet a team of college runners and explain to them that I've NEVER ran before. I even remember in my first few races telling myself during the race. "you're not a runner, you should just stop running because you suck". I never stopped. You HAVE TO brush off those negative thoughts because you can do things you would never image if you just STOP LIMITING YOURSELF!
Stop listening to your excuses

The most difficult weight to lose, especially for females is the last 15-20 lbs.
Some can argue that is more difficult that a 350lb person losing the first 60 lbs0 -
Damn chica! Excellent journey you've been on!!0

I wish I looked like your before picture.. Proud for you that you stopped binge drinking and started running. That is awesome.. But like I said I wish I could look like your before pic! Makes me feel like crap that I aspire to look like what you thought was bad.. lol.0
