Just starting out

I'm just starting a new chapter in my life.I recently moved house to downsize because my children are all grown up. I've just had the most un-interesting Christmas week off work, all to myself with nothing to do.
I'm just getting started out on the road to getting my weight under control so that i can start to feel good about myself.
I have clothes in my wardrobe that i can't get in. I feel unhealthy, and i want to be able to go for a walk without feeling unfit.
I've cleared out all the chocolate and sweets from the cupboard, kept myself busy and begun to record my eating on the new 'myftnesspal' app on my new i-phone.
New year new start, this time next year i'll be able to walk with my head held high and happy to have a photograph taken and put on Facbook.!!!!

Hi I'm Sarah, I've been on MFP for a while but never really used it. Today is the first day I have truthfully written everything down that I have eaten. I'm 26 and since I started uni and gone onto working life I have crept up for a comfortable 12 to a 16 trouser and 14 top. I'm bored of feeling unfit and a bit fat. I'm 5 foot 5 1/2 and currently weight 14st 8. My target is 10=10 1/2 stone although my main aim is toffeel fitter and healthier and comfortable in my clothes again. My biggest downfall - laziness! I have great friends and family who all love food but they balance it with exercise whereas I am a great one for excuses. Especially after a long day at work! I'm keen to hear about peoples exercise inspiration as I really struggle. I used to keep slim by horse riding up until the ages of 22 and \i never even gave food a second thought. Now I dont ride anymore because of work commitments Im struggling to find a form of exercise that doesnt feel like a chore!
I'm off skiing on 22nd January which is 3 weeks away and I think it would be nice to have lost about 6lbs by then. I'm not in any major rush and I feel that 1-2lbs per week is a good pace. Looking forward to hearing from others like me!0 -
Hello everyone!
I recently found this site and decided to give it a whirl. So far I'm LOVING it! I stepped on the scale not too long ago and was horrified. Okay, maybe not horrified but VERY disappointed in what I saw.
So, I started using this site and my KettleWorx DVDs that had been collecting dust and I've lost 3 pounds since I started on Monday! I'm so excited!
I'm hoping that finding some new friends on here will continue to help and that we can share our ups and downs and victories big and small as we travel on this weight loss journey. Here's to a happy and healthy 2012!0
