The Need to Succeed!

I have been obese for so long that I know no other way to live. I don't think I would recognize myself if I found my waistline again it has been hidden for so long under so much fat. I am not sure why I seem to prefer staying fat; what I am obviously hiding from is not outwardly apparent to me. I need help. I am newly diagnosed with Type II Diabetes and scared to death. I am a great listener for anyone who needs a shoulder, too!

yes it is time for a change. you're seeing the effects on your health that your weight has caused BUT you CAN reverse type II diabetes with healthy diet and exercise and losing weight. the ante has been upped for you to do this. you need to do this. and you can do this.okay?
your post hints that you believe there is an underlying psychological reason why you are the weight you are- it is very possible. how about finding a therapist to talk to so you can uncover the deeper issue? use every tool you can- diet, exercise, your doctor, a therapist, this message board. anyone around that will be supportive of your new goals, etc.
btw- when you set up your cals/day and stuff you can add sugar to the stuff you are tracking. it is important for you to keep track of the hidden (and not so hidden) sugars in food and the database here can help. i also track sugar (not diabetic but for other reasons). you can add me as a friend if you like.0
