hip injury

I have injured my left hip/groin and I think its possibly a hip flexor strain from an 8mile run on boxing day but as of yet have not had it checked out and won't until next week (just to see if it gets any better first etc)
In the meantime, does anyone know what exercise I can do?
Walking for 30mins + hurts, as does lifting or extending the leg so home aerobics etc is hard. I still do my body pump class as it doesn't hurt but any other ideas?
Thanks

What do you do for a post-workout meal? You could benefit from a recovery drink... or just any drink that has a 4:1 Carb to Protein ratio that will also help replenish your glycogen stores. That will help with your muscle soreness. I would try to do some hip strengthening exercises. You could probably google: "hip strengthening exercises" and find everything you would ever need to know.
Hope this helps.0
