Could anyone recommend a weight training plan/DVD

Hi all
I have been doing circuit training for a little while now, incorporating strength training, and now that I have increased my overall strength, I would like to include a weight training routine as a standalone.
Can anyone recommend a program, DVD or whatever for a relatively fit. almost goal weight, 40 something year old lady? To give you an idea of my fitness level, I have completed Jillian Michaels 30 day shred and No more Trouble Zones.
I don't want anything too hard core, but something to give me definition and build strength.
Thanks so much.

It's recommended over and over: The New Rules of Lifting for Women. It's a book with 6 months worth of workouts. I am doing it and love it. There's a group on here....http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/102-new-rules-of-lifting-for-women-nrol4w0

P90X is my favorite for a DVD product.
New Rules of Lifting is great for a Book
Jamie Easons Live Fit Trainer is good if you want an online program

I second the vote for New Rules of Lifting for Women.
I also love Nike Training Club, if you have an ipodtouch or iphone.0 -

Thanks for that. Which P90X DVD do you recommend to start with as I see there are many to choose from!0 -

This looks great. I'm looking at ordering the book here in UK : )0 -
P90x, with Tony Horton, By Beach Body, is sold as a full program. You buy the whole set, not one. Not sure on availability in the UK.
http://www.beachbody.com/product/fitness_programs/p90x.do
also available on Amazon.com and Ebay.
The complete package is the recommended option for best results. It gives you complete full body workout, head to toe, on all muscle groups, with some cardio, stretching, and yoga DVD as well. 90 day plan.
If you do not want to start with that, you can start with P90 (power 90) which is the entry level to the P90x line of DVDs. You will not get the same results though.0 -

Beach bosy have just released Les Mills Body Pump - they have body pump classes over here in the UK which were his plan, looks good for weights particularly - check out their web page - they do ship to the UK0

I like ChaLEAN Extreme, it is kind of like P90x with all the weight lifting but it has shorter workouts and is better for beginners. I start month 2 next week and I am loving it so far0

I really like Jillan Micheals 30 Day Shred. I heard about it on this site and gave it a try and I saw results right away. I just started her Ripped in 30 and it is also excellent. The workouts are just 25 mins and the DVDs are around $7on Amazon.0

Yeah thanks. I've completed 30DS and wanted something a bit more challenging in terms of weight / strength training.0 -
