Hunger VS Appetite?

I'm usually hungry when I wake up in the mornings but don't have much of an appetite. It doesn't matter if I eat breakfast or not or what time I eat or what I eat (that I can tell)....it triggers my appetite. I'm fine to walk around hungry, that doesn't bother me at all but once my appetite gets going nothing seems to stop it. I'm obviously not hungry when I'm just having a craving or a large appetite. Evenings are the worst.

Any advice how to change this or stop this? I never think it's bad to indulge my hunger but I know it's bad to indulge my appetite.

  • i just drink water and eat healthy snacks like celery or carrot sticks, and then eat meals at lunch and dinner :)

    I would like to know too, the same thing happens to me. I did not used to eat breakfast and would have lunch late because I was scared to get my appetite going. Now I have to force myself to eat breakfast.

    really good point Nat...there is a difference and I dont mind hungry either, but I do mind cravings...

    this is a weird trick but tinyjourney has turned me on to the benefits of apple cider vinegar..If I take a tablespoon with 6 oz of water it KILLs and want or need for food...try it!

    Thanks for the tip. I will try it. I've always been aware of my true hunger and appetite. I'm trying to control that appetite a little more lately and it's not easy. Come evening, food is all I can think about.

    I drink plenty of water and do eat fairly healthy. Snacking on healthy foods is good but it doesn't stop my appetite :(
