Helping with my deficit plan

I'm really trying to avoid ruining my metabolism, and I've been going along with my deficit for about 2 weeks now. Trying to not to go over about 1300 cal per day, and burning at least 500 cal of cardio everyday.
Stats: 5'1, 100.8 lbs (SW:112)

So 1300-500=800, so I guess I've been in starvation mode?

I need some help figuring out about how much I should eat per day, taking into accoutrements that I'll be doing about 500 cal of cardio per day.

Thank you!

  • If you're burning 500 calories a day, eat enough to get a net intake of at least 1200. So, roughly 1700 a day. You miiiight be able to lower that to 1550-1600 since you're teeny tiny but I wouldn't push it much lower than a net (intake - exercise burn) of 1000.

So, 1500 calories minimum, possibly up to 1800 maximum if you have a killer workout day. Good luck!

What about just following the MFP numbers for 4-6 weeks then re-evaluating? It's a feedback loop. Take advantage of it.

What is your goal? To lose/maintain/gain?
  • I want to lose so I can be 98-100 lbs. 1700 cal per day sounds easy enough, thank you. c:
Should I ever switch it up at all or consistently keep up that routine?

Guru, do you mean eating back my exercise calories?

yes when you're that low starting out (1200) MFP intends for you to eat back your exercise cals.
