Avocado question

Avocados must be in season because they are very inexpensive right now.

Is there any way to preserve them?

    i buy a range of ripeness, i get some that are ready to eat, and some that are not, the ones that are not ripe i put some in the fridge, and leave other on the counter, when the unripe ones from the counter become ripe i take the ones out of the fridge and put them on the counter... :D the cold of the fridge keeps them from ripening as fast.
