Wedding Weightloss

I just got re-acquainted with an old High School classmate last night. She apparently weighted over 300lbs almost 2 years ago. She has since lost 190lbs thanks to this site. Before she came over my fiance and I were looking through old pictures on his laptop and I was appalled. I don't see myself as being a large person, just overweight, but the pictures didn't lie. I am now getting married at the end of May, and really need to get back on track. My goal is to lose approximately 60lbs by May. I hope I can stay committed and on top of it. I don't do well with limiting my food, and I'm not good at choosing foods either... obviously. I just really hope I can get more committed now that I have a big deadline. Thankfully my fiance says he loves me at 245 or 180, but I'm not happy with me. I just really need to buckle down and watch what I eat!

Hi and welcome - glad you found your way over here. I had a similar experience as you, where I actually looked at a picture of myself and I couldn't believe what I saw. Using this site has really helped me get started - I hope it does the same for you. Good luck with your goal!

I got married in July and am still kicking myself that I didn't lose any weight for our wedding and was my highest weight to date at that time (gained a couple more since then). I just found it too stressful with all the wedding planning and just didn't stick to it. Good luck to you in your efforts. No matter what the number ends up being though, enjoy the day! It goes by so fast!!!

My engagement has actually fueled the fire under my butt to slim down. My maid of honor is actually going on the diet with me so we can both be slimmer. My wedding is quite a ways away (Oct 2013) but I have a lot to lose to get down to my goal size. I feels good to start taking the steps. Logging everything you eat on here helps bunches. It helps you see what all you are eating and where the most calories are coming from. Making little changes at a time I think is the best way to go about it.

July 3rd wedding is coming up fast. I need to lose at least 15lbs before my first fitting so I can have my dress altered.
