I have been quite ill for the last few years and my fiance has been my primary caregiver during this time. Not only do I have neurological problems, but these problems have lead me to gain weight and get Type 2 diabetes at the ripe old age of 31. He's a cook by trade and makes all my meals. I can't cook for myself so I have to rely on him for all my meals. The problem: he won't cook things I ask and he serves me gigantic portions. I provide recipes, ideas, articles, cookbooks, menus.....anything I can think of!

I keep telling him straightforward he's killing me feeding me this way (I have gained 65lbs in the last few years - partially from the illness but also his cooking!). He refuses to listen to all instructions or yesses me and then goes right back to doing the same. We've fought and I've cried over it.

He is an affectionate person and believes the best way to show his affection is through food. Of course, being that he's out of work he feels even more compelled to contribute to the house and he does this through cooking. Does anyone else have this problem? What have you done to solve it?
