I just joined this site a week ago and am absolutely amazed at the difference it has made for me! I just stumbled on it while looking for a way to track my calories, carbs and protein and I am now hooked! In fact I have about 5 other people using it now and they are excited too!
My question is - how often should I reevaluate my BMR as I lose the weight? And does doing the recalculation reset your calories needed every day? Thanks to anyone who can answer me!

Hello and welcome to MFP. You will love this site if you don't already. I love this site, it is so motivational, supportive, helpful, and everyone is so nice, and friendly. I just wanted to tell you good luck on your weight loss journey. You can do this.:flowerforyou:  :flowerforyou:

Welcome!!! :drinker: Glad you like the site. It is great!!!! Being able to track your calories is very helpful to reach your weight loss goals.

I'm not quite sure about your question. Hopefully someone else will be able to answer it now that I am bumping it. The only times I have adjusted the numbers have been when I have changed my goals. You can also manually change the ratio of the nutrients, for example if you want to eat more protein than what is suggested by MFP, etc. I am hoping this is helpful.

    Again welcome!!! :flowerforyou:

I know I can look at my goals again and I already changed the percentages some to up my protein but as I lose weight shouldn't my daily calorie requirement go down due to supporting less weight? How will I know what to put in the "net calories consumed" box base on my new BMR?
