Help! Breastfeeding & Calorie Intake!

Hello All!
I'm a mommy to two little men, one of which is 6 months old, and is breastfeeding ever 2-3 hours, around the clock.
My calorie intake said it should be 1230, but I find that really low, is there any way to boost that since I'm breastfeeding?
is there a space to put that in?

Yep! Go into your food diary, click 'add food' then in the search box type in 'breastfeeding'. Several options will come up in the list, if you are breastfeeding exclusively then choose that option and add it, and your calorie goal will be bumped up by 500 calories to account for that extra energy needed for breastfeeding. If baby is eating some solids or uses some formula in addition to. Using, choose one of the other options like 'older baby' and it will add a lower number like about 300 calories.
You have to do this each day, it will not just automatically stay in your diary. But after you add it a couple of times it should start showing up in your frequently used list so it will be quicker to add. :-)0 -
search in the foods for breastfeeding and it will add to your meal, only will deduct 300 calories, thats what i do...so you get 300 more calories to eat0

Do you have to add it to your meal plan everyday?0

If you do it this way, yes. It 'acts' like a food (but negative calories LOL) so you have to add it every day.
Alternatively, you can manually set your calorie goal higher. Since it has you at 1230, you could go in and manually set your goal to 1730. That way you would know you're accounting for the breastfeeding but not have to adjust for it every single day. If you want to do it that way, go to 'my home' then click on 'goals', click 'change goals' then choose the 'custom' option. That way, you can manually input your calorie goal for 1730 and it will stay that way every day until you change it. If you do this, you don't have to put in 'breastfeeding' in your diary every day.
However, if you do that, keep in mind that you might want to bump that goal *down* a little bit when baby starts nursing less.0
