HIIT questions

I'm all about cardio but mostly do longer runs. I am curious about HIIT programs and the results from them. I still want to do my longer runs but would like to do a couple days of HIIT. Any suggestions or feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    i hate those long runs, but hiit is pretty good, i have a 10 interval program of 1:1 of work/rest. its a good way to preserve muscle and lose fat. it even helps lower body reactivity if done right.
