I am from the Minnneapolis area and wondering if there are any fellow Minnesota people out there.? I am also having trouble staying motivated in a climate that is below zero (all I want to do is cuddle up in a blank and watch tv or read) if anyone has any ideas please pass them on.

Stay warm out there.

    Hello Minnesota.
I am in Oregon myself and though I know we are not as cold as you are. Exercising will definately help you warm up. Granted you will probably have to make yourself go and do it but once you get started it will warm you up.

    Welcome to the site.

    Hi!
I'm in Michigan and it's bitter here too (wind chill of -6 right now). I just got back from the gym where I lifted weights and swam. I find that the hardest part is getting there and once I'm there, I'm good to go. Don't know if you belong to a gym or not but I recommend joining, or else getting some equipment in your house (treadmill, weight bench, free weights, elliptical - whatever you enjoy!). You can set yourself up right in front of a television and make that your reward for working out. If you have a bicycle you can also get a stationary trainer for it and set that puppy up all winter.
Also, as long as you dress in warm layers, being outside in this weather really is okay, though I do prefer to be inside myself.
    Good luck!

Hello! I am from central MN!!!

I am staying motivated because I am going on vacation the end of February. But Friday when the cold front was coming in I ate like crap - all high fat comfort food. I think my body was trying to stock up on energy.....

The sunny days have been helpful though!

    Take care, Julie

I agree Friday was my worst day..I will need to get some dumbells for my house because the cold is a big downer for me. I did actually venture outside on Saturday the sun made it feel warmer than it actually was.
