bruise/mild pain in wrist from push ups

Hi,
I was doing a body weight circuit (mainly variations of lunges + push ups) and about half way through I began to experience some mild discomfort in my wrist.
It didn't get significantly worse, however just before I finished I noticed a bruise forming on that spot on my wrist.
(the inside edge where the skin folds if you move your thumb sideways towards you forearm).
I stopped doing any exercises that involved my wrist.
What injury do you think this is likely to be? ligament perhaps?
Have any of you had this injury and what was the time frame/treatment?
Other than resting it and possibly icing it is there anything else you would suggest?
Thanks Guys.
