Hi all,
I'm really feeling discouraged today. I've changed my way of eating since my 40th B'day, June 2008. I joined MFP on Janurary 5th and have been tracking my calories and exercise ever since. I've lost a grand total of 5lbs since being here and have learned sooo much from all of you. I don't think I would have lost what i have without the MFP Family.
I've attached a link to a document that shows 2 weeks worth of my food diary.... my exercise calories are shown also. Please, Please, Please take a look and tell me your opinion on where I'm going wrong... I know I have a sweet tooth, but I'm working really hard at eating healthier and feel I earn a treat when I exercise. All of your attention and opinions will be valued immensely

We are all here for you!
Upon looking at your food diaries, I would have to say that you really need to add more vegetables to your diet and perhaps grapes or berries dipped in Equal of sweet 'n low for your sweet tooth. There is also skinny cows fudge bars which may help - they are only 50 calories.
I love that you eat fish (personally, I hate it)!!!
Also, I would suggest you move to skim milk instead of 2% and perhaps fiber/wheat bread versus bagels.
Some of these changes might help you along. Your staying within your calories (good for you!), but your body is lacking in nutrition.
I hope this helps! You're not doing as bad as you think! :flowerforyou:0 -
Thanks so much firewalker, your advice is great.
I do have a problem with veggies... letttuce and tomatoes are my veggies
I will try those adjustments and see how it goes....

I agree with the last reply. You are not doing as bad as you think and it seems your fruits and veggies intake could go up a bit. Keep apples and baby carrots on hand. Also, almonds and other nuts are a great way to stave off a cravings. Finally, I noticed that your lunches are very light and dinners are a bit heavier. I have notice with myself, when I eat a heavy dinner, I feel really blah the next morning. It might help to switch the two meals and have a more substantial lunch and a lighter dinner. Overall, you are doing great. This stuff is really challenging and I struggle with it as well. Good luck!0

Your food diet looks good ...I would exchange some of those carbs out for fresh fruit and veggies...also adding in beans......:drinker:0
