More Calcium

I need more calcium each day. How do you fit it in, and stay within your calories? I'm at a low calorie intake (1200); I find it hard to eat well rounded and get all my calcium. What do you eat with calcium and how much?

    Fat free greek yogurt, and protein shakes made with soy milk get me pretty close to my target but if I'm under I pop a calcium gummy or two. I've never been on 1200 calories though.

    A glass of almond or soy milk provides 50% of daily calcium and low calories.

    Prior to taking any calcium supplements, check with your doc. Your body doesn't absorb calcium from supplements the same way it will from food--and your body also does not excrete extra calcium. For many people, too much calcium in the system turns into very painful kidney stones.
