Anyone here with Insulin Resistance or Non Classical Adrenal

Hey everyone, I've been using MFP on and off again for about a year and until recently I had been diagnosed with PCOS. After seeing an endocrinologist to TTC, I've been diagnosed with Insulin Resistance and Non Classical Adrenal Hyperplasia (NCAH). Basically, the NCAH mimics PCOS, so it is commonly misdiagnosed. However, treatment is completely different, and so can the affects be on your baby. I've recently been put on steroids (dexamethasone), which can cause weight gain (UGH!) and I have seen a nutritionist to help me through this. Unfortunately, after reading my food journals, she gave me a pat on the shoulder, told me I was doing great and that there was really nothing she had to offer me. GRRRR. Needless to say, this has not been a very positive experience for me. However, in a few weeks (after my blood is tested on the steroids), I will be put on Metformin to aid in weight loss. Upcoming appointments also include a genetic counselor, where I have a feeling they're just going to scare the hell out of me by telling me all of the chances my future children have for being born with disabilities and diseases. Either way, I have been talking with all of the PCOSers on here, and now I feel like a bit of a fraud! :( I haven't seen anyone talking about NCAH, so I was just wondering if there was anyone out there that has been diagnosed or maybe thinks they may have it? P.S. Men CAN have it, too! Thanks so much, all of you!

I don't have either, but I wanted you to know I saw your post and I am thinking of you.

I hope there are others on here that are familiar with this and can help you. ::hugs:: :flowerforyou:
