I need some diet friends!

Hi Everyone,
I hope everyone is having a great new year! I'm looking to start the new year with a bang!
I'm a 31 year old divorcee living in LA looking to lose 30 pounds. I work too much, battle between being a food saint and sinner and just want a little balance.
I've done crazier diets before and this time I'm trying to keep things more reasonable. I do better with a diet thats a little higher in protein and lower in processed carbs than what the food pyramid boasts, but that's just me. The idea being reasonable might just get me there.
I'd just like to add some from friends to my feed to have some mutual cheering on! You're diet, choices and plan will probably be different than mine. That's okay, I respect that and wish you luck.
I'm just wanting some support building!
Cheers to you all!

Hi HotSoupGirl - you can do it. I have had luck with counting calories. I mean really counting them. I was very successful counting and losing 15 pounds last year, but the Holiday festivities kicked my tail. I'm back at it again with a new goal and counting everything. Good luck. I got your back.
Happy New Year

Hi JP,
Thanks for the warm words. Glad to hear that the calorie thing is working well. I'm hoping the same luck will rub off on me! Congrats on the 15 pounds, that's a big accomplishment. The holiday stuff kicks everyone's tail.
I'm glad we're friends now! Let's take a deep breathe and show the new year what healthy dames we can be!

Hey there!
Feel free to add me as a friend - I'm over in the UK but aiming to loose 30lbs too like you, all before my wedding day in July!
I think it's really important to have some mutual support and to cheer everyone on!!

Hey There
I'm on the other side of the Atlantic but I've just got back on MFP after injury that resulted in far to many chocolate hugs.
I am looking for friends to aid in health and fitness motivation.
Feel free to add me if you don't mind the time difference.
for me I'm fine as long as i am very honest with myself and resist temptation when shopping, I have no will power for temptation of the chocolate or ice cream variety. I try to go for higher protein and stay away from too much sugar!
Good Luck and keep us updated with how you are getting on0
