have you got a good resistance training routine?

Hi, looking for a few tips!
My goal is weight loss. I used to have a trainer so we would do strength and resistance workouts as well as cardio, but at the moment I am doing mainly the cross trainer, running and walking, with Jillian Michael's 30 day shred (and sometimes the banish fat boost metabolism one). I'm trying to do something every day. I'd like to do more toning exercises so I have more definition, smaller arms etc as I lose weight so wondered if anyone could list some good exercises that cover the basics? Will using the exercises from 30 day shred be good? Should I do a routine of press ups, sit ups, squats, lunges.

I have two 6kg hand weights (and we have a bar somewhere with weights), an exercise ball, and some kettle bells (although they're too heavy for me to use as I have used kettle bells in the past).
If anyone replies - thanks! Also twice or three times a week is best, right?
