McDonalds diet

I thought I would share this. My daughter is a high school track athlete, but she also works as an evening shift manager at the local Mcdonalds...she put on 16 pounds since june!! She decided December 1st that she would eat only McDonalds mon-fri, and healthy for the entire month of December, to see what would happen if anything, she was positive of weight gain. She ate, the Oatmeal and egg white english muffins, had grilled chicken ceasar salad no dressing for lunch, sometimes the Thai, again no dressing, she ate 2 grilled chicken breast patties and a side salad for dinner, her snacks were 1/2 orange cranberry muffin and apple slices, sometimes she chose a plain regular hamburger..if she was still hungry she said she snacked on tomatoe and pickle slices..lol. I was really amused by this, the local paper did a write up, she lost 9 pounds!!! her weigh in was yesterday. haha! so even with a mcd's diet, one can shed pounds!

    I eat breakfast at McDonald's every morning. oatmeal and coffee...It's all about choices they have some good choices..
  • I totally agree with you, especially in todays busy society, sometimes we eat on the run, i'm more surprised at the commitment and dedication...it's hard to eat healthy in fast food chains simply because others aren't ... but it's amazing what one can do when you set your mind to it and have your goals in sight.

    As long as you know how much is going in (calories) you can fit that stuff in, It's good that fast food places now tell you the macros.
