A Paleo New Year?

I've seen this topic (Paleo) posted before, but it went off on a tangent... SO I'm thinking of trying this, my only issue with it is the no dairy and the fact that I am severely allergic to nuts.
If we don't take in dairy, will we continue to get enough calcium from all of the other foods we eat, or should there be a suppliment?
Can peanuts be an ok substitution for tree nuts? And I can't have coconut or almond milks either, so dairy or soy? Would a good tranisition/ baby step just be a no highly processed food/ bread diet? No hydrogenated oils and all that crap?
Any one out there been on this for a while and can explain the ins & outs of it to me?

If you're gonna be strict on Paleo, then peanuts and soy are definitely a no-go. Peanuts and soy are both legume and therefore not Paleo, also generally most soy products are highly processed.
Nuts aren't a requirement for Paleo, they are just an easy portable snack and a way to add extra fat and some protein.
There are plenty of ways to get enough calcium if you're not eating dairy, dark leafy greens like spinach, kale, broccoli all have calcium. If you're eating a balanced and healthy diet then you should be getting enough calcium. If you're worried, you can always take a supplement.
A no-processed food and bread diet is definitely a positive step, but if you're including things like legumes and dairy, then it's technically not Paleo. You should do what works for you though, it will still be beneficial to cut your consumption of things like processed foods and bread, etc. A lot of Paleo people start by eliminating one non-Paleo item at a time so their transition is more gradual.
