How do I lower my bra size?

  • I know this sounds odd, but when I do work outs and actually loose weight, my cup size just gets bigger. Right now I range from a 38-40H.. I normally wear baggy clothes, but when I wear shirts that shape to my figure, I have people tell me that I am not as big as I look, because of my chest size. Any suggestions? I know some weight lifting will help, but what types?

It sounds like you have breasts that are made up mostly of mammary gland tissue and not fat. I have the same issue.

Besides surgery, there's really nothing you can do about it.

I never knew that was possible. Thank you for the info.

Losing fat is the only way to really lower your bra size, there is no specific way to do it.

This. It took me about 50 lbs. lost to go from a D to a C.

One thing I would NOT advise if you're considering it: breast reduction before you're finished losing weight. A friend got her DD reduced to a C, then lost about 65 lbs. Now she's an A, and wanting implants.

    Stay away from Soy!
The hormone in it can cause your boobs to get bigger.

Do you have a jewel on your tummy?

It sounds that you're similar to me. I lost weight from my torso so I went down a back size. My boobs have shrunk, but not at as fast a rate as the rest of me. I've gone from a 38C to a 36E! But I still have relatively small boobs that wouldn't have anyone's eye out, despite sounding like I have porn-star measurements.

In short, don't panic, nothing's growing, it's just a vagary of bra sizing

Yeah I would wait as well. My aunt had one and she suggested that b/c it looked odd on her.

Not all the time, but if your back hurts, then yes!!!

Losing weight may help, but it doesn't for everyone. Some women put a lot of weight on in their chest, others don't. My body doesn't really put weight on in my chest, so when I was fat, I had tiny boobs, I lost weight, my armpit fat mostly went away (which made my bust look smaller), but my boobs only shrank a little. Moral of the story: Your mileage will vary.

Oh, and one other thing, even if losing weight does make the girls smaller, you might not like what else it does to them. They can get really saggy and weird looking. Mine did even though they didn't shrink much.

Being an A cup on a big day, and usually a AA, I don't have much to add. I would tell you that breast reduction should not be a last option. My daughter is 5'4" and about 125 pounds (when not 9 months pregnant - which is now). She had breast reduction surgery done at age 24 (from a EE cup to a B). She has never been happier. No back pain; she runs and rides horses without "slapping" herself"; her husband loves that she is able to do so much more and is so happy. She is now 27 and looking forward to breast feeding (no problems there either.

    Good luck to you all,
    I am 5' 2

    A 32 GG

    So I understand

My band size I am happy with, I need to reduce my cup size

In 3 years lost 20 pounds

I am hoping my last 25 pounds will reduce boobs

My doc says my breasts must weigh 10 pounds total

Will consider breast reduction if cups don't reduce once weight is lost

Yeah, lol reducing cup size would be a great thing. I bet your back kills you!!! I wish you luck. Reduction is my last resort as well...

I have nothing against reduction, but it IS surgery and carries risks, so it SHOULD be a last resort. If you are one of us who can't lose breast size through weight reduction and your breasts are causing issues, then by all means do it. But I would certainly see if losing weight worked first.

Besides that, if you're overweight and losing, it's tough to guage what size to reduce TO.
