Hi. I am Lindsay. I lost some weight. I gained it back. I lost a little and now i am gaining it back. Is it possible to be a OCD food addict? It must be possible. Help!

I would say it's possible to put your OCD into service here! You can play with all the nice numbers as a distraction from eating things you don't want to be eating. And, don't despair about the past. Try to psych yourself into thinking you can do this in the present.

There's an elusive readiness component to weight loss, whose code I haven't broken. I have started many diets, even over the course of 2011. Most didn't last the day. Some, not even up until lunchtime.

Now, when I came here in October, I was sceptical and discouraged. I didn't expect much. A few days into it, we had a freak Halloween blizzard in Connecticut, and our power was knocked out for 8 days. I logged manually, but there was no internet, so no MFP. My pre-MFP eating behavior was very disordered, and I have had bouts of uncontrolled eating since joining, but gradually the hold certain trigger foods had over me is lessening.

It's a process. Give it a whirl, and hope that your readiness is at least adequate to start. I'm not perfect, and yet this seems to be working.

Thanks for your words. I agree. There is a certain readiness/ determined component. I get pretty discouraged, distracted and downtrodden easily and apparently can convince myself that this one BAR OF CHOCOLATE / BOX OF DOUGHNUTS etc wont really count cause no one is looking. Bad habit.
