Zumba: Class versus Wii game???

Does the Wii game compare at all to a live class? I have the Wii game and wasn't too thrilled with it, but I don't know if I want to pay to go to a class. What do you think? I kind of want to try it.

I love the classes, I try to go at least twice a week. Maybe this winter the instructor will add another night. What I like is the energy in the room.0

Live Zumba is way better than any video game or DVD that I have tried. You can't beat the energy that comes with a fitness class environment! It is a really incredible work out (I burned over 800cals in 60mins today) and I love to dance so it's a really good fit for me. Don't get me wrong, I'm terrible, I watch myself in the mirrors sometimes and I look quite spastic, but I have fun moving and I like the challenge of memorizing the routines.
Try a class - or two. I say two because every instructor is different, I have my favorites and I have been to some classes that I honestly didn't care for. I resisted Zumba for years because it is so trendy, but man, I was totally hooked after just 1 class!0 -
Thanks! I may have to try it out!0

I haven't done it at home but Zumba classes are AWESOME!! I never in my life thought I'd love a class so much, I'd go to one every night if I could!0

I teach 6 classes a week and I still go to other people's classes on my day off...I LOVE it, lol!!!0

I have the Wii Game.
I want to go to the classes but I don't want to go on my own (at least the first time) and my hubby is always at work when the classes are on and none of my friends will go with me. Lol.0 -
I have the Wii Game and love it!! I don't think I am comfortable enough to do it in front of a bunch of people... but maybe once more weight comes off I will check out a class!! Love the dance and how it doesn't feel like a "workout".0

I haven't been 'in' a zumba class but they did have a mass class going on in the gym with about 50-75 ladies while I was on the elliptical. I was too embarrassed to do it and knew i would be crazy winded. i have both zumba wii games and I know it burns a lot of calories, usually at least 300 for 20 min routine if you give it your all. I think it's worth the investment for your off days when you can't make it to the gym or you want to mix it up.
But I am definitely sure the classes will be more fun for those who do it for the energy in the room from the other people doing it. There was a thread about it just a few days ago and many ladies said it compares to the in class because they have a heart rate monitor and have done both. You might look it up on the search bar of the forums.0
