i know what all of u mean.......... my mom actually recommended that i do that HCG or whatever diet thing (the needles or drops?) and it was super tempting, but when i decided to go with good ol'fashioned healthy eating and exercise she seemed disappointed. i know she truly wants whats best for me and i dont want to imply shes jealous, but almost seems like she doesnt like me doing what shes tried to do without success. then theres the rest of my family.....0

This is always a good opportunity to look at your friends. If people are not supportive, or at least honest with you about feeling a little jealous, then it may be a good time to - as my friend Jenn says - to "friend-shui".0

Wow, there must be a lot of *****y and jealous people out there. Of course, I do realize that 95% of the people here are women so it makes sense. I'm lucky I guess, all of my friends make comments constantly about how great I look. Never seen a hint of jealousy.0

I do think it’s worse for women but I’ve heard men complaining too about their friends being upset losing a beer and pizza buddy even if you’re there with a lemon water and grilled chicken. It changes the dynamic of all your relationships and people will fight tooth and nail for the status quo. Even if it’s bad.0 -
I have an colleague that frequently calls me fat.
My other friends are pretty supportive.0 -

Calls you fat?? Wow... I'd be kicking some a** at work everyday... LOL.0 -
I've had coworkers and family make comments like "always worry about calories" or " don't ask her if she wants to go out, she wont eat anyway". I just used it as motivation..so much so--i lost 25 lbs last year from it! Ha!0

Actually most people have been either silent or supportive for me. However many of my family and friends want to loose weight, ask me how I did it and proceed to still complain about being over weight and tell me why it wont work for them. Sigh. I'm leading by example!0

what kind of closest friends do you have? mine are happy when i'm beautiful.
I'm sure you are just talking about guy friends only. hahaha...
no, i'm talking about girlfriends. but then again, i know 4 of my closest friends since i was 10 years old, and about new ones, well i can't expect them to be happy for me...
but i know i'm on top of the world myself when my best friends look beautiful, i'm proud of them.
Me too! Well not the details i.e. knowing friends since age 10, but my close girl friends are happy for me if I am happy. I wouldn't take the people who don't comment as "haters" as they may just feel it is personal and your business as others stated.
Wow, snide comments though? Who does that? They have kind of exposed themselves there as jealous or something.
I do think it is important (and sometimes challenging) not to force your current ideas on food, nutrition, health, etc on your friends. Sometimes tensions happen when well meaning people (who lost weight) suggest, criticize or seem to criticize their friends or family members food and exercise choices. As long as that isn't happening, why hate?0
